My Scary Story

~ Shadows ~ It was 3am in the morning, I remember hearing something creep through the house. If I try hard enough to remember, I went out of my room and down to the hallway. All I heard were creaks from the timber planks in the floor that made me shiver in fear. I was in my bunny slippers that made squeaky noises every time i took a single step that made me even more frightened. I have a faint memory of seeing a big dark shadow limping towards me slowly. I gasped and quietly ran back to my room and locked the door. I pushed my back against the bedroom door and slowing slid down until i touched the floor. I tilted my head ever so slightly so i could put my ear to the door to hear what was going on. All I heard were evil giggles coming from the corridor where my parents bedroom was. I was debating with myself about what i should do. Should i run? Should i hide? i don't know. ~ What's In The Closet ~ The next morning all i think about was the shadow that i saw last night, i was that scared that i couldn't even go out of my bedroom. As i started to rub my eyes and wake up i heard thumps coming from down stairs. I threw my blanket over my head and sat there for 20 seconds and thought to myself “it's probably just my mum” so i pulled the blanket off and slowly slid out of bed to reach the door handle. As i went out of my bedroom to go down to the kitchen for breakfast, i saw soggy wet footprints placed harshly on the floor. I made my way downstairs to see dark red chunky blood smudged all over the carpet and the walls. My eyes grew wide open and i started to panic while i started to call out for my mum. I looked all around the house screaming “mum?!where are you?!” and i still couldn't find her. My heart started thumping so badly that it nearly shot out of my chest. Next minute i heard clutters coming from the closet in the kitchen, so i ran towards it a ripped the door open but my mum wasn't in there. I went inside the closet and then the door shut behind me! My heart was racing and i could barely breathe because of the fear. It was like a horror movie, but in reality!....i looked around the closet but i could barely see because of the blackness. I got my phone out of my pocket and turned on the flashlight mode. I held my phone up to my neck height and started turning around. I saw a trail of broken bones leading to the corner of the closet and i saw my mum. All bruised and skin peeled off her body. I fell to the floor heavily crying, i looked up and saw that over top of me was the shadow man i saw last night. then he lashed out…...and everything turned BLACK! ~ Scar’s ~ Two weeks later i woke up in hospital with dry lips and a thumping headache. The doctors told me i had been in a coma and had a terrible accident, and of course i couldn't remember anything except for what happened in the closet. As i out of bed i looked around the room and saw a mirror. I went up to the mirror to look at my reflection…..and i gasped. I saw two big scars on the right side of my face going through my eyebrow and brushed on my eyelid leading down to my cheek bone. A tear ran down my face full of emotion and sadness. The doctors asked if i was ok and i replied with “oh something just got in my eye”. As i turned back to the mirror i felt like ripping my hair out and screaming to the heavens about what happened to my mum and my face. As the sadness started to fade away, the anger kicked in. ~ Smiling Man ~ when i got home i couldn't sleep, all i could think about is finding that psycho mystery shadow man. As the days went by my memory about the shadow man started to disappear. So i drew a picture of what the shadow looked like and stapled it to my bedroom wall. The drawing looked like a weirdly paralysed smiling man.

Stereotyping inquiry

This week we have been working on stereotyping. stereotyping is when you judge someone by how they look or how they act but sometimes you are wrong about your prediction.

Quad Death Game Information

Quad Death
on Tuesday we played a really fun game and we are voting on what the name of the game should be, here is the instructions and rules for the game.
Writing Purpose: To inform other HNI students the rules of the game and to develop our creative thinking ability.
Audience: Mrs Ellmore and HNI students

Use your creativity to come up with 3 alternative names for this very exciting game!
WW1
Clash and clans
Bullets
Imagine another class here at HNI has not played this game before. Complete the rules below to clearly describe the aim of the game and exactly what the rules are.
Aim of the game: you have to sit on your bum and throw the ball to another square, there are four squares and the one with the least points is your target, you will know how much points you and the other teams have at the end of the round.
Rules:
1.  You have to sit on your bottom
2. You can throw, not kick
3. When you throw you have to be sitting down on your bottom or you’ll sit out for a while
4. You have to get the balls out of your quarter
5. Dont hurt anyone

Game Adaptations
Use your creative thinking to explore possible adaptations to this game to enhance both the fun factor and the ability to win the game. I have given you one example for each category but challenge yourself with other ideas and thinking.

Attack
Defence
Game Plan/Strategy
  • Use balls other than netballs that aren’t as heavy so the speed of the travelling ball also speeds up the game.
  • 4 players from each quad are allowed to sit on the bleaches to stretch with their arms and intercept flying balls.
  • People on the perimeter of the quad pass the ball to someone closer to the bleaches to allow them to throw it further into the opponent's area.

i am from poem

Where I'm From

I am from the galloping winds of the east
that blow me away.
I am from an  idea of a new environment
Far over the ranges.

I am from where I lie among  a flock
Of harmless butterflies.
from the junior einstein album
Who made me who I am today.

I am from the mysterious tune
That comes from within me.
from the constant “beat” in my heart
And  “boom” in my feet

I am from the hurtful and mean
Surrounding me
to the peaceful and Kind friends.
from the loud noises
And beeping cars to the heart and
Soul of country sounds.
